1. Event Creation

1.1 Getting Started with Event Creation

To create an event, tap the orange plus button on the homescreen to open the event creation form.

Steps to Create Your Event
  1. Enter Event Details:
    - Title: Provide a clear, catchy name for your event (e.g., "Summer Music Festival").
    - Description: Describe your event to attract attendees (e.g., "Join us for live music and food trucks!").
    - Category: Select a category like Music or Sports from the dropdown.
  2. Set Date and Time:
    - Choose a start date and time using the calendar and clock icons.
    - Set an end date and time, ensuring it’s after the start.
  3. Add Location:
    - Enter the address, city, and select a country (e.g., Jamaica 🇯🇲).
  4. Event Type:
    - Toggle "Free Event" for no-cost events or enable paid tickets (organizers only).
    - For paid events, enable Reserve Now, Pay Later (RNPL) if desired.
  5. Proceed:
    - Tap "Next" to add images or tickets (for paid events) or "Publish" to finalize.

Note: Non-organizers can only create free events. To create paid events, set up as an organizer in your profile.

1.2 Adding Images to Your Event

Images make your event stand out on the homescreen. Add a main image and up to four gallery images.

Steps to Add Images
  1. Main Image:
    - Tap the image placeholder in the event creation form.
    - Select an image from your device (JPG or PNG, max 5MB).
    - Crop to a 3:2 aspect ratio for best display.
  2. Gallery Images:
    - Tap the "Add Image" button in the gallery section.
    - Select up to four images (JPG or PNG, max 5MB each).
    - Remove images by tapping the red "X" on each preview.
  3. Best Practices:
    - Use high-quality images that reflect your event’s vibe.
    - Ensure you have permission to use all images.
    - Preview images in the form to check their appearance.

Note: Images are stored securely and displayed on the homescreen to attract attendees.

1.3 Setting Up Tickets for Your Event

For paid events, set up ticket types to control pricing and availability.

Steps to Add Tickets
  1. Toggle Paid Event:
    - In the event creation form, disable "Free Event" (organizers only).
    - Enable Reserve Now, Pay Later (RNPL) if desired.
  2. Add Ticket Types:
    - In Step 2, select a ticket type (e.g., General Admission, VIP) from the dropdown.
    - For custom tickets, choose "Other" and enter a name (e.g., "Premium Pass").
  3. Set Pricing and Quantity:
    - Enter a price for each ticket type (e.g., $20 for General Admission).
    - Optionally set a quantity (e.g., 100 tickets), or leave blank for default (100).
  4. Add More Tickets:
    - Tap "Add Ticket" to include multiple types (e.g., Early Bird, Family Pass).
    - Remove extra tickets by tapping the trash icon.
  5. Publish:
    - Tap "Publish" to finalize your event and tickets.

Note: Free events automatically include a "Free Admission" ticket with unlimited quantity. Organizers must enable RNPL for paid events.

1.4 Understanding RNPL and Free Events

RNPL (Reserve Now, Pay Later) lets attendees reserve tickets and pay at the event gate, while free events offer unlimited access without payment. Here’s how to set them up.

Setting Up RNPL for Paid Events
  1. Enable Paid Event:
    - In the event creation form, toggle off "Free Event" (available only to organizers).
    - Ensure your profile is set to "organizer" in your account settings.
  2. Enable RNPL:
    - Toggle on "Reserve Now, Pay Later (RNPL)" in Step 1 of the form.
    - This allows attendees to reserve tickets and pay at the gate.
  3. Add Ticket Types:
    - Proceed to Step 2 and select ticket types (e.g., General Admission, VIP).
    - Set prices and quantities for each type.
  4. Publish:
    - Tap "Publish" to list your event. It will show an "RNPL Available" badge on the homescreen.
Setting Up Free Events
  1. Select Free Event:
    - Toggle on "Free Event" in the form (available to all users).
    - RNPL is not available for free events.
  2. Automatic Ticket:
    - A "Free Admission" ticket with unlimited quantity is automatically added.
  3. Publish:
    - Tap "Publish" to list your event. It will show a "FREE" badge on the homescreen.

Note: Only organizers can create paid events with RNPL. Free events are open to all users and do not require payment at the gate.

2. Using the App

2.1 Navigating the Home Screen

Get familiar with the Home screen to start exploring events and using the app.

Steps to Navigate the Home Screen
  1. Greeting and Location:
    - At the top, see a personalized greeting with your name (or "Guest" if not logged in).
    - Below, your location (e.g., "Caribbean") is shown with a pin icon, based on your profile settings.
  2. Featured Events:
    - Scroll to the "Featured Events" section to view highlighted events, displayed as horizontal cards.
    - Tap an event card to see details like date, location, and organizer.
  3. Best for You Events:
    - Below, the "Best for You" section shows events tailored to your interests, displayed as vertical cards.
    - Tap the heart icon to like an event and save it to your bookmarks.
  4. Create an Event:
    - Tap the orange plus button (bottom right) to start creating an event.
    - If not logged in, you’ll be prompted to sign in.
  5. See All Events:
    - Tap "See All" next to each section to view more events in a dedicated list.

Note: Log in to access all features, like liking events or creating your own. Update your profile’s location for better event suggestions.

2.2 Understanding Event Recommendations

Learn how the app suggests events to match your interests on the Home screen.

How Recommendations Work
  1. Featured Events:
    - The "Featured Events" section shows popular events selected by the app, based on their prominence or engagement.
    - These are updated regularly to highlight exciting upcoming events.
  2. Best for You Events:
    - The "Best for You" section suggests events based on your profile’s event preferences or trending events.
    - If no preferences are set, random events are shown to keep the list fresh.
  3. Personalizing Recommendations:
    - Update your profile’s event types (e.g., Music, Sports) in settings to get tailored suggestions.
    - Your location (e.g., country code) helps prioritize nearby events, marked with a "Nearby" badge.
  4. Refreshing Recommendations:
    - Pull down on the Home screen to refresh event lists if no events appear.
    - Log in to ensure recommendations align with your preferences.

Note: Set your event types and location in your profile for the best recommendations. Check back often for new events!

2.3 Creating a Free Event

Host your own event for free to share with the community.

Steps to Create a Free Event
  1. Start Event Creation:
    - On the Home screen, tap the orange plus button (bottom right).
    - If not logged in, sign in to proceed.
  2. Enter Event Details:
    - Add a title (e.g., "Community Picnic").
    - Write a description to attract attendees (e.g., "Join us for games and food!").
    - Select a category (e.g., Festival) from the dropdown.
  3. Set Date and Location:
    - Choose a start date and time using the calendar and clock icons.
    - Enter the address, city, and country (e.g., "Jamaica").
  4. Mark as Free:
    - Toggle "Free Event" to make it free; a "Free Admission" ticket is added automatically.
  5. Publish:
    - Tap "Publish" to share your event. It will appear on the Discover screen with a "FREE" badge.

Note: All users can create free events. To create paid events, apply to become an organizer in your profile settings.

2.4 Following Other Users

Connect with others to see their events and build your network.

Steps to Follow Users
  1. Find a User:
    - On the Discover screen, tap an event to view its details and see the organizer’s name.
    - Alternatively, search for users by name in the search bar (e.g., "John Doe").
  2. Visit Their Profile:
    - Tap the organizer’s name to view their public profile, showing their events and details.
  3. Follow the User:
    - On their profile, tap the "Follow" button to add them to your network.
    - Their events will appear in your Home or Discover screen feeds.
  4. Manage Followed Users:
    - Go to your profile to see a list of users you follow.
    - Tap "Unfollow" to remove them from your network.

Note: You must be logged in to follow users. Following users helps you stay updated on their events and activities.

2.5 Becoming an Event Organizer

Organizers create and manage paid events to share with the community.

What is an Event Organizer?

An organizer is a special role that lets you create paid events, set ticket prices, and offer Reserve Now, Pay Later (RNPL) options. Unlike regular users who can only create free events, organizers can monetize their events and manage payouts through the app.

Why Become an Organizer?
  • Earn Money: Charge for tickets and receive payouts.
  • Reach More People: Promote your events to a wider audience.
  • Flexible Options: Offer RNPL to attract more attendees.

Note: To become an organizer, apply through your profile settings. Once approved, you can create and manage paid events.

2.6 Searching for Events

Find events that match your interests using the search bar on the Discover screen.

Steps to Search for Events
  1. Locate the Search Bar:
    - On the Discover screen, find the search bar below the "Discover Events" title.
  2. Enter Your Search Term:
    - Tap the search bar and type keywords like event titles, cities, countries, or organizer names (e.g., "Music Festival" or "Kingston").
  3. Submit the Search:
    - Press the blue "Search" button or the return key on your keyboard to view results.
    - Results will show events matching your search term in the "All Events" section.
  4. Clear or Refine Search:
    - To clear, delete the text in the search bar and press "Search" again.
    - To refine, enter a new term and search again.

Note: Search results include event titles, locations, and organizer names. Ensure keywords are specific for better results.

2.7 Filtering Events by Category, Price, or Date

Narrow down events on the Discover screen using category, price, or date filters.

Steps to Filter Events
  1. Select a Category:
    - Scroll to the "Categories" section and tap a category (e.g., Music 🎵 or Sports ⚽).
    - Tap again to deselect and show all categories.
  2. Apply Price Filters:
    - In the "Filters" section, tap "Free" to show only free events.
    - Tap again to remove the filter and see all events.
  3. Apply Date Filters:
    - Tap "This Weekend" to show events happening this Saturday and Sunday.
    - Tap "Next 7 Days" to show events within the next week.
    - Tap the same filter again to remove it.
  4. View Filtered Results:
    - Filtered events appear in the "All Events" section below.

Note: Combining filters (e.g., Music and Free) narrows results further. Clear filters by tapping active ones to reset.

2.8 Sorting Events by Date or Popularity

Organize events on the Discover screen by date or popularity to find what suits you best.

Steps to Sort Events
  1. Locate the Sort Filter:
    - In the "Filters" section, find the sort button (labeled "Sort by Date" or "Sort by Popularity").
  2. Toggle Sorting Option:
    - Tap "Sort by Popularity" to show events with the most likes first.
    - Tap "Sort by Date" to show events by start date (earliest first).
    - The button toggles between these options when tapped.
  3. View Sorted Results:
    - Sorted events update in the "All Events" section.

Note: Sorting applies to filtered results. For example, sorting by popularity within a category like "Festival" shows the most popular festivals first.

2.9 Liking and Saving Events

Like events to save them for later and show your interest on the Discover screen.

Steps to Like an Event
  1. Find an Event:
    - Browse the "Recommended," "Trending," or "All Events" sections.
  2. Like the Event:
    - Tap the heart icon next to an event to like it.
    - The heart turns red, and the like count increases.
  3. Unlike an Event:
    - Tap the red heart icon to unlike; it returns to an outline, and the count decreases.
  4. View Liked Events:
    - Liked events are saved in your profile under "Bookmarks" for easy access.

Note: You must be logged in to like events. If not logged in, you’ll be prompted to sign in when tapping the heart icon.

3. Tickets and Purchases

3.1 Purchasing Tickets for an Event

Buy tickets to attend paid events in the app.

How to Purchase Tickets
  1. Find an Event:
    - Browse the Home or Discover screen and tap an event to view its details.
  2. Select a Ticket:
    - In the Tickets section, choose a ticket type (e.g., General Admission) by tapping "Select".
    - Check availability and price displayed on the ticket card.
  3. Enter Purchase Details:
    - On the Ticket Purchase screen, select the quantity and enter your name and email.
    - Review the total price shown at the bottom.
  4. Complete the Purchase:
    - Tap "Register" to reserve your ticket using Reserve Now, Pay Later (RNPL).
    - You’ll receive a QR code and reservation code on the confirmation screen.

Note: Online payment is coming soon. For now, use RNPL to pay at the venue. Ensure tickets are available and within the sales period before purchasing.

3.2 Using Reserve Now, Pay Later (RNPL)

Reserve tickets now and pay at the event venue.

How to Use RNPL
  1. Choose an RNPL-Eligible Event:
    - On the Event Details screen, look for tickets marked with "RNPL Available".
  2. Select a Ticket:
    - Tap "Select" on a ticket to proceed to the Ticket Purchase screen.
  3. Reserve Your Ticket:
    - Enter the quantity, your name, and email, then tap "Register" to reserve using RNPL.
  4. Complete Payment at the Venue:
    - On the confirmation screen, note the payment deadline and reservation code.
    - Present the QR code and pay in cash at the venue by the deadline.

Note: RNPL is only available for certain events and organizers. You must pay by the deadline to validate your ticket. Bring your QR code or reservation code to the event.

3.3 Viewing and Managing Your Tickets

Access and manage your event tickets in the app.

How to View and Manage Tickets
  1. Go to My Tickets:
    - From your Profile, tap "My Tickets" to see your purchased tickets.
  2. Filter Your Tickets:
    - Use tabs (Upcoming, Past, Canceled) to view tickets by status.
    - Each ticket shows the event title, date, location, quantity, and status.
  3. Manage Tickets:
    - Tap "View Details" to see the event’s full details.
    - Tap "Show QR Code" to display the QR code for event entry.
    - Tap "Cancel Ticket" to cancel eligible tickets (before the event starts).

Note: You must be logged in to view tickets. Check ticket status and QR code before attending. Contact support if you encounter issues with your tickets.

3.4 Canceling a Ticket

Cancel your event ticket if you can no longer attend.

How to Cancel a Ticket
  1. Go to My Tickets:
    - From your Profile, tap "My Tickets" to view your purchased tickets.
  2. Select a Ticket:
    - Find the ticket in the Upcoming tab and tap "Cancel Ticket".
  3. Confirm Cancellation:
    - A prompt will ask you to confirm. Tap "Yes" to cancel the ticket.
    - The ticket will move to the Canceled tab.
Cancellation Rules
  • Tickets can only be canceled before the event starts.
  • Completed tickets or tickets past the payment deadline (for RNPL) cannot be canceled.
  • Canceling returns the ticket quantity to the event’s available pool.

Note: If you can’t cancel a ticket, check the event start time or contact support via the Help Center for assistance.

3.5 Using Your QR Code to Attend an Event

Use your ticket’s QR code to gain entry to an event.

How to Use Your QR Code
  1. Access My Tickets:
    - From your Profile, tap "My Tickets" to view your tickets.
  2. Show QR Code:
    - Find your ticket in the Upcoming tab and tap "Show QR Code".
    - Display the QR code on your device at the event venue.
  3. Present at the Venue:
    - Show the QR code or reservation code to event staff for scanning.
    - For RNPL tickets, complete payment at the venue before scanning.

Note: Ensure your device is charged and the QR code is visible. For RNPL tickets, pay by the deadline to validate your ticket. Contact support if the QR code doesn’t work.

3.6 Checking Event Participants

See who’s attending an event to connect with others.

How to Check Participants
  1. View Event Details:
    - Navigate to an event on the Home or Discover screen and tap to open its details.
  2. Check Participants Section:
    - Scroll to the Participants section to see up to five attendee avatars.
  3. View Full List:
    - Tap the avatars or "+X more" link to view all participants.
    - Only users with valid tickets are shown as participants.
Why Check Participants
  • Discover friends or others attending the event.
  • Follow participants to stay updated on their activities.

Note: Participant avatars are based on ticket purchases. Contact support if you don’t see expected attendees.

3.7 Troubleshooting Ticket Purchase Issues

Resolve common problems when purchasing tickets in the app.

Common Ticket Purchase Issues
  1. Not Enough Tickets Available:
    - Check the ticket availability on the Event Details screen. If it says "Sold Out" or low quantity, try a different ticket type or event.
  2. Ticket Sales Period Ended:
    - Ensure the event’s ticket sales are active (check sales start and end dates on the ticket card).
    - If outside the sales period, contact the organizer for options.
  3. RNPL Not Available:
    - Verify if the event supports Reserve Now, Pay Later (RNPL) by checking for the "RNPL Available" label.
    - If unavailable, wait for online payment options or contact the organizer.
  4. Login Required:
    - You must be logged in to purchase tickets. Sign in or create an account if prompted.
Getting Help
  • Log out and back in to refresh your session.
  • Contact support via the Help Center’s contact page if issues persist.

Note: Always verify event and ticket details before purchasing. Ensure you’re logged in and have a stable internet connection.

4. Account and Privacy

4.1 Managing Your Privacy Settings

Control how your data is shared to customize your experience in the app.

How to Manage Privacy Settings
  1. Access Privacy Settings:
    - Go to your Profile, then tap "Privacy" to open the Privacy Settings screen.
  2. Toggle Data Sharing Options:
    - Organizer Sharing: Enable to share your data with event organizers for better event coordination.
    - Third-Party Sharing: Enable to allow data sharing with trusted partners for enhanced features.
    - Promotional Emails: Enable to receive marketing emails about events and offers.
  3. Save Changes:
    - Changes are saved automatically when you toggle a setting.
    - You’ll see a confirmation message once updated.

4.2 Setting Up and Managing Notifications

Stay informed by customizing which notifications you receive.

How to Manage Notifications
  1. Access Notification Settings:
    - Go to your Profile and tap "Notifications" to open the Notification Settings screen.
  2. Choose Notification Types:
    - Toggle switches for types like Event Reminders, Ticket Updates, Payment Deadlines, Promotional Offers, or Account Updates.
    - Enable only the notifications you want to receive.
  3. Enable Push Notifications:
    - Ensure your device allows push notifications in your phone’s settings.
    - The app will register your device to send notifications.
Checking Notifications
  • View notifications in the app under the Notifications section.
  • Mark them as read to keep your list organized.

Note: You must be logged in to manage notifications. If notifications aren’t appearing, check your device’s notification settings.

4.3 Deleting Your Account

Permanently remove your account and associated data from the app.

How to Delete Your Account
  1. Access Privacy Settings:
    - Go to your Profile, then tap "Privacy" to open the Privacy Settings screen.
  2. Select Delete Account:
    - Scroll to the "Data Management" section and tap "Delete Account".
  3. Confirm Deletion:
    - A prompt will ask you to confirm. Tap "Delete" to proceed.
    - You’ll be signed out and redirected to the login screen.
What Happens After Deletion
  • Your profile, event history, and tickets will be removed.
  • Some data may be retained for legal reasons, and errors may be logged if deletion fails.

Note: Account deletion is permanent. Contact support if you encounter issues during deletion.

4.4 Updating Your Profile Information

Keep your profile up to date to personalize your app experience.

How to Update Your Profile
  1. Access Profile Settings:
    - Go to your Profile from the app’s main menu.
    - Tap the settings or edit option (usually a pencil icon) to update your details.
  2. Edit Profile Details:
    - Update your username, full name, or phone number to reflect your preferences.
    - Choose your country and language to customize event recommendations and app content.
    - Select event types (e.g., Music, Sports) to tailor the events shown on the Home and Discover screens.
  3. Save Changes:
    - Tap "Save" or confirm to update your profile.
    - Changes take effect immediately, affecting event suggestions and notifications.

Note: Accurate profile information improves event recommendations and ensures notifications are in your preferred language. You must be logged in to edit your profile.

4.5 Understanding Location Sharing

Learn how your location is used to enhance your event discovery experience.

How Location Sharing Works
  1. Current Status:
    - Location sharing is not yet available but will be added in a future update.
    - Your profile’s country and location settings are used to show nearby events, marked with a "Nearby" badge on the Home screen.
  2. Setting Your Location:
    - Update your country in Profile settings to prioritize events in your region.
    - For example, selecting "Jamaica" shows events in that country first.
  3. Future Features:
    - Soon, you’ll be able to enable or disable precise location sharing for more tailored event suggestions.

Note: Your location data is handled securely. Update your country setting for better event recommendations until precise location sharing is available.

4.6 Requesting a Data Export

Download a copy of your data stored in the app.

How to Request a Data Export
  1. Access Privacy Settings:
    - Go to your Profile, then tap "Privacy" to open the Privacy Settings screen.
  2. Select Data Export:
    - Scroll to the "Data Management" section and tap "Request Data Export".
  3. Current Status:
    - This feature is not yet available but will be added in a future update.
    - When available, you’ll receive a file with your profile, event history, and ticket purchase data.
What Your Data Export Includes
  • Profile details (e.g., username, country).
  • Event interactions (e.g., bookmarks, likes).
  • Ticket purchase history.

Note: Check back for updates on this feature. Contact support if you need help accessing your data.

4.7 Customizing Notification Delivery Methods

Choose how you receive notifications to stay updated on events and account activity.

How to Customize Notification Delivery
  1. Access Notification Settings:
    - Go to your Profile and tap "Notifications" to open the Notification Settings screen.
  2. Select Notification Types:
    - Enable desired types (e.g., Event Reminders, Ticket Updates) to receive notifications.
  3. Set Delivery Method:
    - Notifications are sent via push to your registered device by default.
    - Ensure push notifications are enabled in your phone’s settings for the app.
  4. Register Your Device:
    - The app automatically registers your device for push notifications when you log in.
    - If switching devices, log in again to update your device registration.

Note: Push notifications require device permission. If you don’t receive notifications, check your device’s settings or re-login to register your device.

4.8 Troubleshooting Notification Issues

Resolve problems with receiving notifications in the app.

Common Notification Issues
  1. Notifications Not Appearing:
    - Ensure notification types (e.g., Event Reminders) are enabled in the Notification Settings screen.
    - Check your phone’s settings to allow push notifications for the app.
  2. Device Not Registered:
    - Log out and back in to register your device for push notifications.
    - Verify your device is linked in the app’s settings.
  3. Delayed or Missing Notifications:
    - Refresh the Notification Settings screen to sync with the server.
    - Ensure a stable internet connection.

4.9 Switching Languages for a Personalized Experience

Change your app’s language to match your preferences.

How to Switch Languages

    - Go to your Profile, then tap "Language" to open the Language Settings screen.
  2. Choose a Language:
    - Select from available languages (e.g., English, Spanish, French).
    - The app will update to display content in your chosen language.
  3. Apply Changes:
    - Save or confirm your selection to apply the new language.
    - Event recommendations and help articles will reflect your language choice.
Benefits of Language Settings
  • View app content, notifications, and help articles in your preferred language.
  • Improve event discovery with localized event details.

Note: You must be logged in to change languages. Some content may remain in English if translations are not yet available.
